Sandra Venkata Veeraiah who won the recently concluded Telangana Assembly elections from the Telugu Desam Party from Sattupalli in Khammam district has finally bid goodbye to the yellow party and hopped onto to the pink party bandwagon. His entry into the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi ended the speculation which has been rife in the political circles ever since the elections results were out.
While he made his decision in joining the TRS public, he informed reporters that he had met Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan who welcomed him into the party. Speaking to reporters, he said that he believes that the Telugu Desam Party future in Telangana is dwindling and hence, has decided to join the TRS as the people have given the party their mandate.
Additionally, Sandra said that he worked with commitment and was dedicated to TDP during his stint in the party. However, the Andhra Pradesh government has recently withdrawn Sandra's name as the member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust Board.
It is believed that Sandra switched loyalties because he wanted to protect himself cash-for-vote case where he is one the main accused. "I'm not worried about any cases. I believe in serving the people. The case is in the court," he added. Now, that Sandra has joined the pink party as expected, there could be more allegations and counter allegations against the TDP given that this is the elections season.
