In a big setback to the Dubbaka Congress campaign, two senior leaders entered the TRS campaign on Friday with Minister Harish Rao in attendance. TRS was joined by Narasimha Reddy and Manohar Rao, along with 2,000 Congressional party staff. Welcoming them to the party, Harish Rao said that in the Dubbaka by-election, TRS candidate Solipeta Sujatha would receive massive support. Harish Rao took a dig at Congress Party and said TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy would remain with the people until the polls, but the leaders of the ruling party would be available 24 hours to the people.
"This time, the leaders of Congress are afraid of losing all the votes and it is not fair for Uttam to despise Solipeta Sujatha. Uttam insulted all the women in Dubbaka by hitting out at Sujatha. The people of the constituency, however, are pleased to see a woman representing their constituency," Harish Rao said. Dubbaka is facing a November 3 by-election due to the sudden death of MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy in the constituency. Subsequently, the TRS party gave Ramalinga Reddy's wife Sujatha a ticket. Solipeta Sujatha is contending with Cheruku Srinivas Reddy of Congress and Raghunandan Rao of the BJP.
