In the wake of the 21-day nationwide lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the rise of the positive cases of COVID-19 in India coming to an end on the midnight of April 14th, Modi has a video conference with the Chief Ministers of the states.
The outcome of the video conference is that the existing lockdown will be extended for two more weeks as the situation did not come under control. Earlier they have discussed that if the positive cases stop increasing the lockdown will be lifted.
As the positive cases and the deaths of COVID-19 are increasing day by day Prime Minister Modi extended the lockdown. The guidelines for the lockdown were being prepared as to whether to shutdown everything or not.
The official statement on this will be issued by today evening with the new guidelines reportedly. We might get more clarity on this then.
