AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju is proving to be a tougher nut to crack. He is showing that he can take strong decisions and can be very firm if needed. Soon after taking over, he has asked the party leaders not to speak about Amaravati.
Now, he has directed the party spokespersons and other key leaders not to attend TV channels for some time. He has asked them not to comment on any issue. One must first focus on building the party and not say anything on TV screens, he told the party leaders. This way, he can ensure that there are no problematic comments on the issue of three capitals. He has also put paid to any controversy. Now, all leaders like Vishnuvardhan Reddy and Sujana Chowdary, who revel in speaking to the TV channels, are keeping mum.
Veerraju is trying to lure as many leaders as possible from the Telugu Desam Party into the BJP. He is said to be working on a strategy to bring big names. The idea is to weaken the TDP and emerge as an alternative to the ruling YSRCP.
