Srikakulam: In North Andhra, the TDP has practically shown the door to the politically powerful Gouthu family. Ever since the TDP was established, the Gouthu family, which has been in politics for more than seven decades, has been literally marginalised. The daughter of Gouthu Shyamasundara Shivaji, Gouthu Sireesha, was removed very unceremoniously from the Srikakulam district TDP chief's post. No prior notice was given to her that she would be excluded. Suddenly, Kuna Ravikumar replaced her. Gouthu's family claims that at least Chandrababu should have told them of the decision. But, the family thinks that this is quite unfair and is feeling very low.

Interestingly, this expulsion came just days after Atchannaidu, AP TDP leader, came to Shyamsundara Shivaji and took his blessings from him. The photograph of Atchannaidu touching the feet of Shivaji went viral. Within days, the door was shown to Sireesha. Sources claim this could not have occurred without Atchannaidu's knowledge. Meanwhile, the former MLA of Amadalavalas was Ravikumar, who was made the district party chief. He lost to Tammineni Sitaram, the new speaker. He is famous for his violent brand of politics.
