In yet another unprecedented move, AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy has stunned three particular media houses in Andhra Pradesh. He has given a direct warning to them in his inaugural speech as CM of Andhra Pradesh.
"The likes of media houses Eenadu, Andhra Jyothy and TV5 are known for their pro-Chandrababu rhetoric as they can't see any other politician ruling this state. To bring back CBN to power, they write whatever scrap they want to defame us" said Jagan, quite openly. Later he added that a judicial committee headed by a High Court judge will take care of the tenders after formulating new rules and verifying each tender. "If these media houses attack the government even after such High Court judge's decisions regarding awarding the contracts, the Government will file defamation suit on them" Jagan warned.
All the TV channels (and newspapers) said by Jagan are hardcore supporters of Telugudesam Party led by Chandrababu Naidu. They are known for digging huge at Jagan in the last 10 years and before that, they have criticised the regime of YSR as well in a rigorous manner. That's the reason YSR has come up with Sakshi as he felt the need for own media house to support one's rhetoric. While YSR toyed with the concept of Media Watch for a while, it looks like Jagan wants to go the legal way.
We have to see how these media folks will respond to the comments of CM Jagan.
