Category: Political News

Chief Minister YS Jagan led AP government has taken a bold decision by approving the merger of Andhra Pradesh Road State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) into the government. The first cabinet of the new government met on Monday morning and nearly five and a half hours, this cabinet meeting lasted.

In this meet, the strike issue of APSRTC was brought to the notices of CM Jagan. He is heard to have proposed the merge of RTC with the government. After many consultations, the cabinet said okay. But a committee will be soon appointed by the government and it will be given three months time to study the possibilities. If the merge happens then nearly fifty thousand RTC employees will be benefited. However the financial status of RTC is worrying. It could hit the debts ridden AP treasury badly.

The AP cabinet also approved the pay hike of Asha workers, general pensions from Rs 2000 to Rs2250. Jagan also proposed the YSR Bheema for farmers and it is likely to get implemented from October 15th.

Overall, the first cabinet of YSRCP government made a daring start
