Actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is set to turn 61 on June 10, has urged his fans not to throng his residence to celebrate his birthday and maintain safety protocols, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Every year, fans from across the Telugu states come to Balakrishna's residence to wish the star on his birthday.
In a video message that he shared on Tuesday, Balakrishna said, "As I celebrate my birthday on June 10, people have already started reaching my home to wish me. While I'm humbled by this gesture, I urge you all not to come here in this current situation. We are still in the middle of a global pandemic and I will not be able to cope with it if anyone gets infected because of this. All your love has made me what I am today and I request you all to celebrate my birthday indoors with your family members."
The Akhanda star also offered condolences to the families who lose their loved ones to the virus. "I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the families of my fans who lost their loved ones to this virus. You will all be in my thoughts. I once again request fans to refrain from any kind of celebrations that will lead to mass gatherings," Balakrishna added. On Workfront, Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently awaiting the release of Akhanda which is being directed by Boyapati Srinu. The film marks his third collaboration with the director after Simha and Legend.
