Producers of Telugu film industry have already made an agreement that they will not be allowing Prime Video, the digital streaming wing of Amazon, to not stream a film until eight weeks after the release. That gives a 50-day window for our makers to make money from the box office.Though that is good news of sorts as bad films are unable to bring people to theatres and Prime Video adding salt to the wounds, here comes the worry of Majili makers. When this film of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha was sold, there was no such agreement in place and Amazon will screen it 30 days after its release. That's the concern of Majili makers now.
In case if the film gets average to below-average talk, then many audiences are going to wait at home for 30 days to catch the film on their mobile and TV screens. Especially with soaring temperatures killing the afternoon shows and IPL affecting the evening shows, and political publicity overlapping film publicity, Majili feels that an early release on Prime Video is a threat.
However, all these fears will be drowned if the film scores a massive hit at the box office. Directed by Siva Nirvana, Majili features Naga Chaitanya and Samantha in the leads.
