In Falaknuma, Hyderabad, a large flash demonstration took place, asking that Wasim Rizvi, the former Chairman of the Shia Wakf Board of Uttar Pradesh, be prosecuted for his alleged blasphemous book and utterances.

With black flags flying, people from all across the city began a rally from Vattepally to the Falaknuma bus station. The protestors chanted chants against Wasin Rizvi, the former chairman of the UP Shia Wakf board, and asked that he be punished for blasphemy.

Falaknuma police arrived on the spot shortly after learning about the event and dispersed the protestors. The people claimed that the book's contents and the offensive words were made with the objective of offending the community's religious emotions.

Wasim is said to have published a Hindi book criticising the Prophet Mohammed, the Islamic religion, and Muslims. Local protestors believe Wasim has made a conscious attempt to disrupt the country's calm and tranquilly. He also urged that Wasim be punished according to Indian law.
